Singing Journal is an essential arsenal in a singer's toolkit.

Write down how it feels when you wake up, before going to bed, and during practices, performances, and/or singing engagements.

This process of journaling allows us to examine, reflect, and assess whether we need to undertake any troubleshooting on any consistent areas and problematic areas in our practice.

Jot down how the actual practice went, and all technical aspects:

Title of Song
Composer
Year it was published
Link of the Track and Backing Track (Minus One)

Tempo - Overall pace of the song; the speed of the music. In a musical composition, the tempo is usually described with Italian words such as largo, adagio, allegro, etc.
Rhythm - In songs, words usually match the rhythm. The origin of the word is Greek, meaning "flow." As meter pulsates a poem, rhythm organizes music in much the same way. The regular pulsations of the music are called the beat.
Pitch Jumps - length of the interval
Timbre - Color of the sound. Each sound has a unique timbre. This can also relate to style.
Dynamics - Loudness or softness of the sound. Dynamics add emotional intensity. Italian words like forte, pianissimo, and crescendo give musicians clues on how loud a piece should be played or sung.
Melody - The tune. A series of musical tones or pitches falling into a recognizable pattern.
Harmony -  The blending of tones or sounds played or sung simultaneously to make up chords.

Make time to listen to new music, see a documentary to recharge your creative batteries. You can include your thoughts about these in your journal as well.
